If you're a parent like I am, you look for those priceless teachable moments that can help shape the values and morals of your kids. Sometimes they are few and far between and not always easy to identify.
I have three young boys. And when I heard about an event coming to Lubbock, I knew it was one of those moments I couldn't pass up. You might have heard about Lubbock Lemonade Day.
On May 5th, over 2,000 local kids will be setting up lemonade stands across the city. But this is much more than a lemonade stand. It's a chance to teach children the value of starting, owning, and operating their own business.
That means they will go through a process that teaches them responsibility, goal setting, forming a budget, and ultimately the lessons of seeing a return on hard work.
Kids from kindergarten to high school that sign up will get this backpack. It's full of everything they need to get them prepared for Lemonade Day, May 5th,
You can play a direct role in helping these kids learn these priceless lessons on Lubbock Lemonade Day. They need mentors, investors, employees, and customers. And there's still time to sign your child up for their own lemonade stand, too.
Visit lubbock.lemonadeday.org for more information. And don't forget to stop and buy lemonade everywhere you see it come Saturday, May 5th.
