Lubbock Native Niki Sullivan Dies

Sad news from the music industry, a member of Buddy Holly's band has died.

Niki Sullivan played guitar for the Crickets and sang backup for Buddy Holly. Sullivan also formed a band called the Plainsmen and recorded with the Hollyhawks.

He was inducted into the Buddy Holly Walk of Fame in 1986. Raised in Lubbock, he moved to Kansas City where family members say he died in his sleep on Tuesday.

Niki Sullivan was 66.
