Family of Four Homeless After Fire

A fire near Shallowater left a family of four homeless. Just after noon Thursday a mobile home in the Faben Trailer Park became engulfed in flames. The cause of the blaze is under investigation. Two adults and one child were home when the unit caught fire, but everyone escaped in time.

Shelly Schonasky, a resident that escaped the blaze said,  "I just ran in to check to see what was on fire and then we made it out the back door. I had to crawl through the hallway toward the back door and we got out the back door like that."

The Red Cross has provided temporary shelter for the family. A relief fund has been established. If you'd like to help out you can call the Red Cross at (806) 765-8534 and ask for disaster services.
