The timetable has been set, now it is up to SBC Communications to stop its workers from striking. Last Friday employees at the SBC office in Lubbock spent their lunch hour protesting new contracts. They, along with thousands of other employees are part of a union, the Communications Workers of America. The union is particularly concerned about job security and health care costs.
On Thursday SBC was given a 30 days notice that the union could strike if a new contract isn't settled.
