Dutch eye surgeons have implanted tiny pieces of jewelry in the mucous membrane of the eyes of six women and one man. This eye-catching cosmetic surgery was pioneered by the Opthalmic Surgery Research and Development Institute in Rotterdam.
Surgeons there have patented the eye jewelry, a heart or half-moon, which they implant using an operating microscope in a procedure that takes about 15 minutes. Already, there is a long waiting list.
