Man Hospitalized After Wreck

A 29 year-old man is in a local hospital after he lost control of his vehicle and ran into a utility pole Saturday afternoon. The accident happened in the 3100 block of Quaker around 2:30 p.m.

Police say Jeffrey Downs was reaching for something when he lost control and ran into three poles, splitting one of them in half. He was taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Downs is listed in satisfactory condition.
