The only survivor of a fatal shooting three days ago continues to fight for her life Sunday night.
35-year-old Shelly Wilson was shot multiple times by her estranged husband late Thursday night at her duplex in the 8200 block of Vernon Avenue. According to police, 39-year-old Brian Wilson went on a shooting rampage, critically injuring Shelly and killing her co-worker, 27-year-old Timothy Smith. Brian fled the area, but a call from the Plainview Days Inn would lead police to another deadly scene.
"I heard his name and I remember I checked in a Wilson; Brian Wilson. He seemed quiet, ackwardly quiet. I said have a good night, and he stared at me for a couple of seconds and said 'Thanks, you have a good night also.'" stated Samantha Rodriguez, overnight clerk at the Plainview Days Inn.
Police found Brian's body, along with a suicide note inside his motel room. Tonight Shelly is listed in critical condition at University Medical Center.
