Execution Of Lubbock Man Scheduled To Proceed Tuesday

The scheduled execution of a Lubbock man will proceed Tuesday after the State Court of Criminal Appeals refused to halt his execution Monday.

Michael Rosales faces lethal injection for the beating and fatal stabbing of 67-year-old, Mary Felder. It happened on June 4th back in 1997 at a North Overton Lubbock apartment complex. Rosales stabbed Felder more than a hundred times after she interrupted a burglary.

Attorneys for Rosales claim he's mentally retarded. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled mentally retarded people may not be executed.
