Eighth grade history teacher and U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel John Albin returned home two weeks ago after fighting in Iraq. On Tuesday Frenship Junior High students held a welcome home celebration. Students, teachers, and Congressman Randy Neugebauer were in attendance to share their appreciation to the colonel. Albin says time away to fight for his country was well worth it, but he's glad to be back in the classroom.
"I really miss my students and fellow co workers. I really enjoy it here. It's great. It's taken me a while to realize that this is real. I wake up and wonder where I am and is this a dream. Am I really home, so many times I'd wake up and think I'm still here so now this is gradually becoming a reality again," says Albin.
Albin says this year may be his last with the Army Reserve. After 31 years of service, he's planning on retiring this year.
