KCBD-TV Wins 10 Awards From TX Assoc. of Broadcasters

It is a very proud day here at NewsChannel 11. That's because the station received a number of awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters - for Division Three.

  • NewsChannel 11 was awarded first place for Best Newscast
  • KCBD.com was awarded first place for Best Website.
  • Jeff Ramazani received first place for Feature Editing.
  • Karin McCay, Jeff Ramazani, and Ruben Villarreal received first place for Serious Feature.
  • Cecelia Coy, Bill Woodard and Samuel Ortega won second place for Serious Feature.
  • Burt Mummolo and Kale Steed won second place in the Light Feature category.
  • John Robison won second place for his Weathercast.
  • Emily Jones, Greg Miller, and Tye King placed second for their Sportscast.
  • Burt Mummolo and Kale Steed placed second place for Deadline Editing.
  • Cecelia Coy and Albert Belez were honored for Spot Story.

It takes a very large crew to put a newscast together, so, a collective congratulations goes out to everyone on our staff.

Sustained winds at 20-30 mph, warm temperatures and low relative humidity values will create an elevated to critical fire weather risk for our area. A cold front will move through our area late tonight, shifting winds out of the north. Monday morning will be cool and breezy.
