It is a very proud day here at NewsChannel 11. That's because the station received a number of awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters - for Division Three.
- NewsChannel 11 was awarded first place for Best Newscast
- KCBD.com was awarded first place for Best Website.
- Jeff Ramazani received first place for Feature Editing.
- Karin McCay, Jeff Ramazani, and Ruben Villarreal received first place for Serious Feature.
- Cecelia Coy, Bill Woodard and Samuel Ortega won second place for Serious Feature.
- Burt Mummolo and Kale Steed won second place in the Light Feature category.
- John Robison won second place for his Weathercast.
- Emily Jones, Greg Miller, and Tye King placed second for their Sportscast.
- Burt Mummolo and Kale Steed placed second place for Deadline Editing.
- Cecelia Coy and Albert Belez were honored for Spot Story.
It takes a very large crew to put a newscast together, so, a collective congratulations goes out to everyone on our staff.
