Red Raider Greats Honored

Texas Tech football held its unofficial end of the spring workout season with the Red and Black Game over at Jones SBC Stadium on Saturday afternoon. But a few hours before the game kicked off, a pair of former Red Raider greats received a great honor.

E.J. Holub became the namesake for the weight room at Tech's new football training facility, renaming it the E.J. Holub Strength and Conditioning Center. A very emotional Holub spoke of the honor, which he found out about on Saturday.

A $500,000 check was donated to put Holub's name on the weight room. Originally anonymous, Holub later found out it came from former teammate, Mack Pogue of Dallas.

Former coach Spike Dykes was also honored, having the meeting rooms in the building named after him.
