A security guard for the Lubbock Independent School District was in critical condition Tuesday evening after collapsing during a police chase.
Around 12pm, staff at Lubbock High School asked for assistance removing a man who was causing a disturbance. The man took off running ,but LISD and city police officers caught him in the 1900 block of 17th St.
After the chase, Security Officer Frank Benson was found unconscious near the scene in his security truck. The 63-year-old was taken to Covenant. It is unknown what caused him to collapse.
