Supporters of the Lubbock Animal Shelter have been pushing for improvements for years and soon that decision will be up to you.
On Friday Animal Shelter Manager, Jamey Cantrell gave NewsChannel 11 a tour and showed us what needs work. Cantrell says the ceiling is falling apart, the cats need bigger cages, and dogs are in danger of spreading diseases to one another. "We're looking to make some drastic improvements so that we can do more for the people and the animals of the community," said Cantrell.
If passed, the animal shelter would receive in excess of $1-million from a $29.9 million bond issue. The election is May 15th.
