Brewer selected to be new LPD Assistant Chief

Lubbock Chief of Police Roger Ellis released this statement on Monday:

I have selected Captain Jerry Brewer for promotion to fill the Patrol Division Assistant Chief position created by the retirement of Assistant Chief Thomas Esparza on April 30, 2012. The official promotion date is May 5, 2012.

Captain Brewer is a 23-year veteran of the Lubbock Police Department, having served in Patrol, the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force, and command assignments in the Juvenile Section, Training Section and Special Operations. Captain Brewer is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a graduate of the FBI National Academy.

Captain Brewer's broad experience and exemplary service in the department make him well-qualified to fill this position. Please join me in congratulating Captain Brewer on his upcoming promotion. His assignment will be Assistant Chief in Patrol Division.
