You may have noticed some cutting edge technology used by contestants on "The Biggest Loser" to help them take off a hundred pounds or more. The high tech arm-band you see on that hit show is actually an affordable gadget that is helping dieters nationwide drop the pounds. Chase Cwenar says,
"It collects information about what I am doing. It'll keep count of the calories that I am burning through the day and calculate that. It will go over the intensity of the exercise that I am doing".
The technology was developed by four scientists and designers who created a computer program that tracks and tells people what they need to do, or stop doing, to get to a healthier lifestyle.
There are several different models available now. The Body-Media and other body trackers range from 1 to 2 hundred dollars.
