This fundraiser is a "fun razor", Get it? Fun as in F-U-N, and razor as in what you use to cut hair. It's called a "Fun Razor", because Salon Professionals Academy is giving hair cuts all day long on Friday to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-thon this weekend.
Actually, the hair cut is free on Friday with any donation to Cystic Fibrosis. Salon Professionals is in the 3600 block of slide road. Then, the great strides walk-a-thon is set for Saturday at Mackenzie Park. Registration starts at 9am and the walk begins at 9:30am.
"Just sign in at the front counter, make the donation and then we'll get them with a student as soon as possible or if they don't want a haircut that day, they just want to come in and just drop off a donation, we'll also except those," says Ann Lang, an instructor at the Academy.
The CF Foundation estimates that more than 10 million Americans are walking around as carriers of CF, but most don't know it until they have a child with another carrier and it shows up in the child.
