A Lubbock businessman seeking election to the State House of Representatives gave his take on school finance Friday.
Democrat John Miller would like to represent District 83, which is currently held by Republican Delwin Jones. At a luncheon Friday Miller said he was disappointed that Governor Perry called a special session when there wasn't a consensus. He also said that legislators should focus on funding school programs that are innovative.
"We need to have more tech type classes we need vocational programs to provide them (students) with skills that people like myself as a business employer will be able to hire them." said Miller.
Voters will choose a state representative for District 83 in the November general election.
