XCEL Energy Rate Increase - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

If you're an XCEL energy customer, prepare for increased rates starting Saturday. The utility company will now charge 75-cents more per 1,000 kilowatt hours than Lubbock Power & Light.

The rate hike was approved to pay for the rising cost of natural gas, which was a problem LP&L faced a year ago. Now, LP&L plans to meet or beat the rates of its competitor.
