A one car rollover north of New Deal leaves a Lubbock woman in critical condition Sunday. It happened just before 4:00 p.m.
DPS Troopers say 24 year-old Perla Gutierrez was headed south on I-27 toward Lubbock when for some reason she lost control of her vehicle. Gutierrez veered off the road, into the median, before over correcting and rolling her white SUV at least two times. She had no seatbelt on and was thrown from the vehicle.
EMS took Gutierrez by Aerocare to University Medical Center where she remains in critical condition. Troopers say she was conscience at the scene.
At this time, the cause of the accident is unknown. Troopers are investigating if high speed was a factor.
They also said there was alcohol in the vehicle, but they are unsure if it was a factor in the accident.
