LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Low energy funnels were reported across the South Plains Friday afternoon.

Low energy funnels are not the same as true tornadoes that are produced by supercell thunderstorms. The funnels were created by showers and thunderstorms that are rotating around a low pressure system centered over our region. Funnels of this magnitude are typically very weak in nature and rarely cause damage.
