It's finally official, a new prescription drug discount card that will help Medicare patients save on prescription drugs. The card is sponsored by the Pharmacy Care Alliance and will offer discounts of as much as 20% on name-brand drugs and discounts of as much as 40% on generic drugs.
Medicare will also offer a credit of up to $600 for low-income beneficiaries who are eligible. Monday is the first day you can start enrolling for the new discount card. Just ask your neighborhood pharmacy for an enrollment form.
Walgreens told us on Monday that they have the forms already. Eckerds says they are expecting them any day now.
