City Councilman Drops Complaint Against Concrete Plant

Apparently Lubbock City Councilman Victor Hernandez has changed his mind about a concrete plant being built inside District One.

The issue surfaced when District One City Council Candidate, Linda DeLeon announced her efforts to build that plant in NE Lubbock. In March, Hernandez issued a complaint to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality claiming the plant would ruin air quality. DeLeon, meanwhile, assured city environmentalists her plant would not pose a health hazard.

Monday, Councilman Hernandez withdrew his complaint to the TCEQ. If Hernandez had continued with his protest, the issue would have gone to a public hearing.
