LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

The South Plains Food Bank has a new partner in the fight against hunger. On Monday morning, the food bank announced a five-year partnership with PlainsCapital Bank.

The partnership will bring in $125,000 to the food bank over the next five years.

CEO David Weaver says the donation will have a tremendous impact on what they are able to do to serve hungry families on the South Plains.

"It's going to help us with our mobile pantry program - which is extending out into rural counties," Weaver said. "It's going to help us with our Kids Café program. And it's going to help us with our GRUB program and ensure kids are not only being fed, but have an opportunity to grow out of the cycle of poverty."

PlainsCapital Bank has been a supporter of the food bank for over 20 years.
