Children staying at UMC Children's Hospital will have a little more fun in and outside the playroom there now, thanks to a generous donation from the Starlight Children's Foundation. That group teamed up with Colgate-Palmolive and United Supermarkets to present a third Starlight Fun Center to the hospital today. That's a TV, Nintendo Wii, and a DVD player. The reason it's such a big deal is that it's portable.
Eddie Owens, Director of Communications at United Supermarkets, said, "The UMC staff can take them anywhere in the hospital, so lots of kids can enjoy them in any environment, and hopefully make their trip to the hospital a little less intimidating than it normally would be."
You'll hear much more about them during the upcoming Children's Miracle Network telethon, which airs June 2nd and 3rd. Zachary and his brother Riley were the first to use the new system.
