Experts study sensations when seeing a needle

If the thought of a giant needle makes you cringe, you definitely won't want to see this video, and you definitely shouldn't watch the needle piercing your skin the next time you have to get a shot, either. German researchers set up an experiment where participants received minor electric shocks to their hand while watching video of either a needle or a q-tip touching someone else's hand. Those who saw the needle video reported significantly more pain.  Experts suggest that looking away from a shot may actually make it less painful!
