The capital murder trial of a Lubbock man is now underway. Allen Boling, 25, is accused of beating Russell McKinney, 31, to death with a pipe.
Tuesday, a jury saw photos of the crime scene along with hearing testimony.
An EMT who first responded said McKinney was so badly hurt that he had trouble getting a breathing tube hooked up to him.
Authorities say Boling committed the murder in January of 2011.
John Gidding, 48, is also charged with capital murder.
His trial has not yet started.
