The Lubbock Regional Bioscience Initiative announced Thursday that the National Center of Excellence in Foods and Nutrition Research has selected Lubbock as its host city for the southwest region.
Nutricore plans to promote the research and development toward a healthy and fit America. They believe that their products will offer customers a healthy alternative, without sacrificing taste.
"We have a gluten free bread, gluten free hamburger buns, we've got snack food chips we're working with," said Tim Snyder, Marketing Director for the Nutrigrain Sorghum Producers. "We've got a number of other products. The waffles are tremendous."
Nutricore hopes to make these products available in grocery stores within a year.
