At the Lubbock City Council meeting Thursday, a Lubbock leader was honored for his work in education.
At the end of this school year Doyle Gammill, the Director of Fine Arts for LISD, will retire. He has been employed by the district for forty years. Gammill even recalled when Mayor Marc McDougal was a student. "I want you to know that your Mayor was a good student most everyday," said Gammill.
In honor of his retirement, the City Council presented Gammill with a plaque.
