Lowrey FieldLubbock Independent School District announced Thursday a $3 million gift from PlainsCapital Bank as part of a sponsorship agreement which includes naming rights for the Lowrey Field athletic complex.
The district's largest sports complex will be renamed PlainsCapital Park.
The complex includes Lowrey Field, where all LISD football games are played, Moegle Field, home site for Monterey High School baseball and softball, and a track where all high school and middle school track meets will take place.
The funds will be used to purchase technology for LISD classrooms and anew scoreboard and signage for the football field. Addition funds will also go to LISD fine arts education thanks to the donation.
