While breast cancer death rates may be going down, about 40,000 American women will still die from the disease this year alone.
That's why the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation wants women to be aware. The foundation, along with Junior League of Lubbock, held its second Breast Cancer Symposium Saturday.
Early detection was a main focus during Saturday's symposium. This is because early detection means a greater chance of survival. The program included physicians, survivors, as well as a panel discussion.
