A federal prison guard out of Post is facing criminal charges, accused of taking a bribe and smuggling drugs to an inmate inside of the prison.
POST, TX (KCBD) -
A prison guard admits to bribery charges in Lubbock Federal Court. Johnny Haynes pleaded guilty Friday.
In court documents he admits he took a 750 dollar bribe to smuggle marijuana into the Giles Dalby Prison Unit in Post.
Prison officials suspected him of criminal activity so they asked federal officials to initiate an undercover sting. Haynes was arrested as part of that sting in February.
He'll be sentenced at a later date. He faces up to two years in prison.
