A Lubbock woman, Susan Tijerina Gloria, admitted to tax fraud on Thursday.
Two Lubbock women face up to 287 years in prison and a fine of nearly 24 million dollars each. Patricia Zavala and San Juanita Pena both pleaded guilty in federal court on Thursday.
They admitted to a long list of tax fraud charges. They two worked at Z & Z Bookkeeping in Lubbock. Court records say they falsified customer tax forms to get a bigger refund.
They're also accused of taking a portion of the fraudulent refunds. The government estimates a loss of more than 400 thousand dollars due to fraudulent tax returns at Z and Z.
They'll be sentenced at a later date and their plea agreements leave sentencing entirely up to the discretion of the judge.
