Voting for the Texas primary election in Lubbock was off to a slow start on Tuesday. As of 6 p.m. there were about 6,900 people who cast their votes.
This is considerably lower than past years, partly because the Election Day was pushed so far back. Adding Tuesday's voting numbers with the nearly 18,000 early voters brings the total right under 25,000 votes for this election.
That's only about half of the people who voted back in the 2008 election that totaled more than 47,000.
