The National Football League made a visit this week to Coronado High School and football campers from around the South Plains. NFL High School Player Development Camps are nation-wide, and this is the first year a Lubbock site has been chosen.
According to the NFL High School Player Development website:
The high school player development program aims to develop productive members of society as well as good football players. We use the newest techniques and instruction from a wide range of colleges and look to constantly improve the fundamentals of the game
According to organizers the camp had over 250 athletes from around the state, and they expect the number will be much higher next year.
