LUBBOCK, TX — As a part of its "For the City" initiative, Experience Life is canceling services June 2nd and 3rd for Servolution to serve the community of Lubbock. More than 1,700 volunteers will spend the weekend serving the city of Lubbock with over 30 projects.
Starting Saturday morning through Sunday evening teams are partnering up with local outreach organizations all over Lubbock for Servolution.
Projects include a graduation luncheon with Hope Chest, hospital care packages for the Rape Crisis Center, food collections for the South Plains Food Bank, multiple projects with the Lubbock Dream Center, Backyard Missions and many other organizations. Buckner's Children Home. On Sunday afternoon volunteers will host a block party at the Ted Phea Boys & Girls Club located at 1801 E. 24th Street.
From 12pm to 3pm there will be games, food, a garage sale, and a musical performance by G.L.O. We want to invite everyone in the Wheatley neighborhood to come out and enjoy this time.
"We are passionate about being a church that is for the city and blesses the city of Lubbock in Jesus' name! To us, that means meeting the physical needs of the local organizations and people in our city. We are excited about being out in our community this weekend to be the church," said Operations/LifeHouse pastor Clayton Walker.
This is the third year for Servolution at Experience Life Lubbock, and the first year for Servolution at Experience Life Amarillo. The goal is to spend time being the church to our communities.
