Train hits car near Lubbock Airport

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

DPS is investigating the cause of a morning accident in northeast Lubbock County after a train hit a car that was left on the tracks.

Around 5:30 a.m. Friday a train hit a car near Country Road 5800 and North Country Road 2400 just north of the Lubbock International Airport.

No one was in the car at the time of the accident. It is unknown if the car stalled on the tracks or was intentionally left on the track.

Alcohol was found in and around the car. DPS is still investigating the crash.
