Shots fired with stolen handgun near Wild West

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Sunday at 2:48 a.m., patrolling officers heard several shots fired. After checking the area, they found a vehicle in the Wild West parking lot that was possibly involved.

Police say the driver, Matthew Lowery, 29, was found to be in possession of a stolen handgun. He was arrested and charged with the unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful carrying of weapons, and theft of a firearm. There were two other subjects in the vehicle at that time.

The investigation is still ongoing, but it does not appear that anyone was shot, and it is still uncertain who the shooter was firing at.
