LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -
Children's author Katherine Applegate will be at the Barnes & Noble book fair on Monday at 2 p.m. The book fair is inside the Barnes & Noble at 6002 Slide Road.
The science fiction author is well-known for her series, "Animorphs." If you purchase Applegate's book or anything else in the store, be sure to mention Lubbock ISD. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the district's Summer Reading Challenge.
In the Summer Reading Challenge, LISD students, faculty and staff will complete a journal of books they read over the summer. Those involved have the opportunity to win t-shirts, certificates, and other prizes.
The book fair will continue until Tuesday afternoon. If you aren't able to stop by, proceeds from online purchases can still be donated to the summer reading challenge through June 17th.
