Juvenile points gun at officer during burglary arrest

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Two juvenile suspects are behind bars after burglarizing a home in the 2400 block of 24th Tuesday.

Lubbock Police Sergeant Jonathan Stewart says the homeowner arrived at the listed address to find the two 14-year-old males in her home around 11 a.m. The teenagers fled and an officer located them at 23rd and Avenue W.

When the officer started handcuffing one of the suspects, the other ran off. That's when the first suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the K-9 officer.

The officer's K-9 partner immediately deployed and subdued the suspect. The teenager was then handcuffed and taken to University Medical Center with bite wounds to his leg.

Multiple LPD and DPS officers located the second 14-year-old a couple blocks away in the basement of his nearby home.

The first suspect is charged with Burglary and Attempted Capital Murder. The second suspect is charged with Burglary and Evading Arrest.
