Family members say dash cam baby is doing fine

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

KCBD NewsChannel 11 first brought you the shocking video of a baby being ejected from a vehicle during a police chase. Family members say the 18-month-old is doing fine and is with family.

Her parents were involved in a robbery that happened before midnight in the Depot District. Kenny Shawn Jimenez, 17, and her 16-year-old mother are still in custody. Police say that two other teens were also involved in the incident.

Police say Chelsea Betenbough, 19, was robbed at gunpoint in a parking lot outside of Melt Lounge. When officers tracked down the vehicle it sped away. Policed chased the SUV until it crashed in the 3700 block of Avenue P.

That was when the police dash camera captured the little girl being ejected out of the back window. She stood up and chased after the vehicle until one of the suspects grabbed her.

Police say two of the suspects ran down the street with her and were later arrested in a woman's backyard.
