The murder trial of a Lubbock man continued Tuesday as investigators relived the death of a toddler.
Investigators with Child Protective Services, the Lubbock Police Department and the Sheriff's Department testified in Gilbert Escobedo's capital murder trial. The 42-year-old is charged with killing his 22-month-old nephew, Modesto Blanco, in February of 2002. Escobedo told detectives he accidentally injured Modesto when he caught him drinking out of the toilet.
If convicted, Escobedo would receive an automatic life sentence. The trial continues Wednesday.
