The Ugandan Orphan's Choir was in town for Juneteenth celebrations Saturday. Part of their 11-month tour of the United States.
Tour leader Shay Flaherty says the choir is made possible through donations made to its parent group - childcare worldwide.
"Our point is to reach out our hands as far as we can," Flaherty said, "to get them to help out as many kids in school as possible."
The organization helps pay for schools in nine different countries.
The kids put on two shows at Mae Simmons Park as part of Lubbock's Juneteenth celebrations.
This is their 8th tour here in the U.S.
