Lubbock Jury Sentences Man to 99 Years In Prison

Edward Martinez will spend the next 99-years in prison.

A Lubbock Jury handed down the sentence late Wednesday afternoon after finding Martinez guilty of burglary of habitation with intent to commit theft. He must serve 15 years before he's eligible for parole.

Martinez is the last person to go on trial for attacking 81-year-old A.L. Hawkins in his home last April. Hawkins suffered many stab wounds, but survived the attack. Kenneth Pace, James Fox and Seth Stone all pleaded guilty. Pace was sentenced to 25 years in prison, while Fox and Stone received 40 years each.
