Benefit Concert Scheduled For Victims Of Alcohol Related Accident

A benefit concert is scheduled for this weekend for two girls injured in an alcohol-related accident.

It happened March 13th on West Loop 289 near 4th Street. 15-year-old Laura Pederson and 19-year-old Chrissy Murdock were two of four girls in a vehicle that was hit head-on when another vehicle crossed the median. 19-year-old Rebecca Blair was killed. The driver of the second car, 22-year-old Bernabe Mendoza was charged with intoxication assault.

The concert takes place this Friday, May 21st at 7 p.m. at Redbud Baptist Church. The church is located at 8th Street and Slide Road. The concert is free, but donations will be accepted.
