Lubbock Funeral Home Must Determine If It Buried Wrong Body

The records of another Lubbock Funeral Home are in question now that a woman is claiming the wrong body is buried in her mother's casket.

White Funeral Home laid to rest 77-year-old Esther Lousie Riley in April of 2003. A year later, Debbie Bartholomew is trying to find out if it is her mother inside the casket. According to funeral home records, the body inside is five inches taller than her mother. The Texas Funeral Service Commission reviewed the case Wednesday. White Funeral Home has agreed to pay the costs to identify the corpse.

Meanwhile, the Lubbock Cemetery and the City face a lawsuit by more than a dozen people who claim the graves of their relatives are lost.
