Silent Wings to offer Aviation Boot Camps in July, August

Provided by Silent Wings Museum

The Silent Wings Museum will host their two-part summer activity camps, Aviation Boot Camp I and II, in July and August at the Museum, the site of the World War II Glider Program's advanced training.

Registration fee for each of the camps is $35 per child. The camps are designed to introduce children ages 8-12 to the daily life and training of a World War II glider pilot and soldier. Children will be enrolled as "cadets" and will participate in different activities which teach history, basic flight principles, navigation, military skills and teamwork.

The 2011 Summer Aviation Boot Camps proved to be such a success, the Museum added an additional week of Aviation Boot Camp I. Please indicate which week you would like to attend when registering. Students attending Boot Camp I are eligible to attend Aviation Boot Camp II, which builds on concepts learned during Aviation Boot Camp I.

PAID registration by Monday, July 9th is required as class size is extremely limited. Contact Lisa Howe, Education Coordinator, at 775.3567 or 775.3059 for more information.
