Damaged crane snarls traffic on Tech campus

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) -

Just after lunch on the Texas Tech campus, a crane that was working on the new student housing project buckled.

No one was injured and the building under construction was not damaged, a university spokesman said.

Streets from 15th and Akron to 18th and Boston will be closed temporarily until the crane can be disassembled and a new one can be brought in.

There is no word yet on what caused the crane to bend.
