Stabbing victim found on road near Hobbs

LEA COUNTY, NM (KCBD) -

Authorities in Lea County, NM are investigating the death of a man found with serious injuries near Hobbs Tuesday.

Early Tuesday morning, Lea County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the call of an injured man on landfill road just east of Hobbs.

When they arrived, authorities say they found a man who appeared to have been stabbed in the upper chest.

He was quickly transported to Lea Regional Medical Center where he later died.

Sheriff's investigators say they are following several leads in this case and anticipate additional interviews. The victim's name has not been released.
