About 40 World War II veterans from across the nation met in Lubbock this weekend for a reunion. Sunday's memorial banquet at the Four Points Sheraton honored those from the 10th Armored Division who have passed away.
The division fought in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge, a battle that has been described as the biggest and bloodiest single battle American soldiers ever fought.
"We consider ourselves a band of brothers. We've been together as comrades for now going on 60 years. The group is getting smaller and smaller through the years. As we continue on, we've made a recent decision to go on to be a last man unit, in other words, to continue on 'til there's nobody left," said Bob Anderson, President, Western Chapter of 10th Armored Division.
Most of those who came to the reunion are not from this area. Many come from as far away as Pennsylvania, California, and Arizona.
