A local trampoline gymnast will be going to the Olympic Games in London, after all.

Dakota Earnest, of Plains, finished third at the Trampoline Olympic Trials Finals in San Jose, California.

Savannah Vinsant won with a 153.1 score and will compete at the Olympics in London.

Dakota, who was in second place for most of the competition, received word Wednesday that she will be going to London as the alternate, in the event that Vinsant cannot compete due to injury or illness.
